Welcome to the Aboriginal Child Welfare site. I hope you will find what you are seeking. This site is established in the hope of creating greater understanding between Aboriginal people and the rest of us. It is driven by the hope that we can find ways to atone for the damage that I and the systems of child care have inflicted on Aboriginal people over the years. The notion of atonement is often used in the context of paying for one's sins, and this is partially what I intend. But more importantly, I hope that it is a forum where we can learn from the important messages that Aboriginal people have to bring us at this stage in the evolution in the human race. While some may believe that such systems belong in the past, if we are to progress we must acknowledge that not only were mistakes made, they continue to be made in spite of the best efforts of many. My hope that we can do much better.
